Seals and Albatrosses

After driving to Dunedin (sometimes it’s nice to see a city and people for a change) we went out to the Otago Peninsula to see the famous albatross colony and to get close to some seals. The local furr seals are seemingly quite used to photographing humans creeping up on them so they really couldn’t care less about us:

We were lucky that it was very windy and the albatrosses (weird plural ;-) were also out and about

It’s hard to get the size of that bird across in a photo but the wingspan you see is about 3m!
