The car:
This Ford Explorer is a great car for every season with lots of space for your gear, moderate on gas (12L/100km) and great performance on the road. The 4WD will get you out of anywhere and the all season tires are good for pavement, snow or mud. You will never need to use chains again, while we were working at the Sunshine Village Ski Resort, we never got stuck in the parking, regardless of heaps of snow. The car always starts at the first try and is also equipped with a block heater for the colder months. The body is in good condition, a bit of rust here and there but nothing major. The manual transmission is durable, increases fuel efficiency and, with a clutch from 2010, will last for a long time.
In summertime, you will love the roof window (opens a crack or can be removed completely) and the air conditioning.
The interior:
The Explorer is fully equipped with electric mirrors and electric windows. The sport power seats will adjust anyway you like at the touch of button and will keep you comfy even on the longest rides. Built in cruise control gives you a relaxed ride on the highway and helps you safe fuel.
Between the front seats you got an armrest with integrated storage space and even a special holder for spare coins.
The stereo CD player will play everything you throw at it, CDs, MP3-CDs, MP3 on USB Stick and it also has an IPod connector (you can control your IPod via the radio) and AUX input for all other MP3-players. It even has a remote, so you can operate it from the backseat. The sound is nice, clear and powerfull! The car comes also with a subwoofern and sub-amp, although we never used it and are not sure if and how it works. The amp powers on, so it’s most likely a question of getting the cables right.
The exterior:
As you can see on the photo, the body colored mauve with some chrome accents. All lights are working perfectly and we had never problems with any of those. There is one crack in the windshield (seems to be impossible to avoid that in the mountains) but it doesn’t constrict the drivers or passengers view.
The car is equipped with a hitch and has a lot of towing power in 4WD.
Tools and parts:
Tools for changing the tire are stored in the back, some spare fuses and light bulbs are also included.
